Laboratory Quality & Accreditation Readiness

Quality that lives in everyday practice.

Build a quality system your team can use. Identify gaps, organize documentation and evidence, and prepare for the accreditation framework relevant to your laboratory.

Services
People. Processes. Evidence. A connected quality system.

YOUR LABORATORY. YOUR SCOPE.

Different laboratories.
The right scope for each.

We begin with the laboratory’s activities, services and intended accreditation scope. Medical, veterinary and non-clinical testing needs are not treated as one interchangeable pathway.

Human clinical & medical laboratories

Quality processes, staff competency, controlled documentation and readiness planning aligned with the laboratory’s selected framework.

Animal health & feed testing

Traceable work processes, sample and test records, quality documentation and scope-specific readiness support.

Non-clinical testing laboratories

Testing workflows for areas such as food, water and environmental samples, with quality and evidence requirements scoped to the actual services.

QUALITY IN PRACTICE

Build the system.
Prepare the evidence.

Support can cover gap assessment, a prioritized improvement plan, document control, procedures, competency records, internal review preparation and evidence organization.

Gap assessment & improvement planning

Review current practice against the agreed requirements. Produce a gap register with owners, priorities, evidence needs and a practical action plan.

Quality documentation & document control

Structure policies, procedures, forms and records. Define preparation, review, approval, version control and access so staff use the right document.

Competency & implementation support

Organize role-based competency records and staff preparation. Support the practical use of procedures, review findings and corrective-action follow-up.

Readiness reviews & evidence organization

Connect requirements to evidence, identify remaining actions and prepare for assessment. Readiness support does not replace the accrediting body’s independent decision.

ACCREDITATION & CERTIFICATION READINESS

Choose the right
readiness pathway.

The framework is selected after confirming the facility type, laboratory activities and intended scope. We do not assume every standard applies to every laboratory.

CAP

CAP accreditation readiness for the applicable laboratory programme and agreed scope.

CBAHI

CBAHI readiness support according to the applicable facility programme and laboratory requirements.

ISO 15189

Medical laboratory quality and competence readiness.

ISO/IEC 17025

Testing and calibration laboratory competence readiness, within the agreed scope.

ISO 9001

Quality management system certification preparation. This is separate from laboratory accreditation.

TANUL provides independent consulting and readiness support. We do not issue accreditation or certification, guarantee approval, or imply endorsement by CAP, CBAHI or ISO. Final decisions remain with the responsible accreditation or certification bodies.

HOW WE WORK

Clear thinking.
Practical progress.

From the first conversation to operational handover, every step has a purpose. Clear scope and review checkpoints keep the work connected.

01

Confirm the scope

Understand the laboratory, services and applicable quality framework.

02

Assess & prioritize

Identify gaps and agree an improvement plan with clear ownership.

03

Implement the quality system

Develop documentation, prepare staff and support day-to-day application.

04

Review readiness

Review evidence and outstanding actions before external assessment.

BEFORE WE START

A few useful answers.

Do you guarantee accreditation?

No. We help assess gaps, implement improvements and organize readiness evidence. Accreditation and certification decisions belong to the responsible bodies, following their own assessment processes.

Can we start with an existing quality system?

Yes. We review the current documentation and actual practice first. The objective is to improve what exists, close meaningful gaps and avoid unnecessary duplicate paperwork.

Does laboratory software make us accreditation-ready?

No. Software supports records, document control and traceability, but does not replace competent staff, implemented procedures, management oversight or assessment. We define each tool’s role within the quality system.
